TU München welcomes more than 10,000 new students
TUM continues to attract ever-growing stream of new talent

TUM continues to attract a record number of new students. This winter semester sees around 6,000 students again commence a bachelor’s or state examination course – just as many as last year.
Particularly sharp increases in new enrolments were reported by the (Center of Life and Food Sciences; up 27%), the (up 12%), and the (up 11%). The most popular bachelor’s degree courses are in and in , with around 700 first semester students each, followed by , with approximately 650 new students.
The total number of students in the first semester will again exceed the previous year’s intake by 10 percent, since considerably more students are commencing a master’s course (up 26%). Almost half of those commencing a master’s come from universities other than TUM.
TUM now has more students registered than ever before: approximately 35,000. Ten years ago, the figure was only around 20,000; five years ago it was around 23,000.
